How to get started: Contact your local Christian Book Store or Church and ask about having a book signing event at the bookstore or church on a weekend. You might be surprised to find out that there are bookstores and churches in your local area that would be happy to have you come and do a book signing event.

It is always a good idea to after making contact by phone to personally visit the bookstore or church, introduce yourself and find out where you will be setting your book event table up at. Set you event date 30 days in advance if possible and utilize that 30 days to do some local marketing and promotions. You will find that local newspapers, radio and other media will promote the event for free. 

Things to consider when doing a book signing event:

  • Bring your own folding table.
  • Bring a nice cover for the table.
  • Bring an ample amount of books.
  • Have a drawing for a free book.
  • Bring a bowl of peanuts, almonds or something else.
  • Stay at your table during the event.
  • Bring something that will hold a few books upright to display.
  • Be creative, have fun and make your book signing event special for those who come.
  • Make sure that you have plenty of books available and on display.
